In the early 2000s Romania is starting to discover its tech potential. This is when Örs, Lynx Solutions’ founder and CEO quits his then-job to follow a new path starting with an idea.
During a school reunion, he reconnects with former colleagues for a casual discussion about the potential of this emerging market which ultimately gives birth to Lynx Solutions in Târgu Mureș.
It starts with a few young developers excited to create something very new - a software product for local businesses.
Being at the right time is not enough; the right place is also essential.
Less than a year after the company's inception, the young team from Târgu Mureș moves into their first office — a modest, unfurnished space.
Undeterred, the team handcrafts all the necessary furniture themselves.
By 2007 Romania joins the EU, new programming languages start to appear, and the Lynx Solutions team gets bigger.
There is better understanding of the use of technology on the market and an overall excitement about it. Lynx Solutions moves into a new office that can accommodate the growing team.
There is a new shift in direction with Lynx Solutions now creating custom software for western companies.
In a pioneering project for Romania, the Lynx Solutions team ventures into the Carpathian Mountains to capture the region in a 360° photography format for Google.
Equipped with the heavy Google Trekker, the mission is to provide the public with a high-quality digital exploration experience.
This initiative marks the first time that major hiking routes in the region are photo-mapped and made accessible online to the public.
During a two-day trip to Cluj-Napoca, the leadership team meets a group of talented computer science students, and they connect effortlessly.
They don’t know it yet, but this meeting marks the beginning of a second Lynx Solutions office in one of Transylvania's largest tech hubs.
Some of those then-students remain with the company to this day.
By our 20th anniversary we are already through many challenges and market changes.
We celebrate our journey with a team of over 75 people, two headquarters, a strong portfolio and very diverse software expertise.
